What I think:

Keep calm. Enjoy. Stand your ground.

“Always aiming for efficiency and pragmatic solutions with foresight.“

In my journey as M&A lawyer and notary, I’ve always focused on clarity and practicality in the midst of complexity. Starting from a student’s great love for mathematics and logic, I’ve honed my ability to analyse, to structure and to maintain overview even in the most intricate transactions, always aiming for efficiency and pragmatic solutions with foresight. My experience in M&A transactions is vast, yet it’s my empathy and unwavering calmness that truly define my approach to my work and the team effort that is key to all transactions. The ethos of “strength lies in calm” resonates deeply with me and enables me to lead very complex transactions and in exceptionally emotional settings.

My work ethic is driven by a deep understanding of the economics of the deal, by a very clear focus on interests and options for solutions and a passion for the task at hand. To achieve the best outcomes, I value team and communication and, not at least, balance. A good swim or Yoga, Pilates or cycling session often brings fresh energy alongside with more or new ideas, allowing me to work most productively at various times – be it early mornings or late evenings when the world around me quiets down.

Thinking of the transactions I regularly advise on, their international reach in a globalised world is one of my favourites in the multifariousness of business. It surely adds to the intricacies we face. Still, I rather tend to enjoy the special care that is needed for culturally effective communication and progress in negotiations.

My work may often only present a glimpse of practiced internationality, yet we assist to establish long-term successful multinational settings. Seemingly, this feature is even mirrored in my private life when, for example, I embrace the vibrant and expressive world of Afro-Brazilian dance. To dance Maracatu and Frevo -traditional dances from northeastern Brazil- is not just a delightful hobby to me but stands for a deep connection to mankind’s cultural tapestry that I enjoy sharing at events such as the Carnival of Cultures. And, luckily, this passion for dance is even upheld by my children and complements the joy and agility brought into my life by them, who are a constant source of inspiration, fun, and, occasionally, challenge.
