Dr. Jan Böhle
Be humble.
“I am a language nerd.”
Raised in the outskirts of Madrid, the streets of Berlin-Wedding, the hallways of a Jesuit high school, and university lecture halls in Berlin, Paris and Cambridge, I come with a background that has injected me with deep curiosity and a relentless pursuit of understanding the world’s tapestry. Understanding people, cultures, ideas, languages, and, ultimately, the law.
Choosing law over diplomacy or entrepreneurship was driven by a desire for autonomy and the versatility of the field, especially in the world of venture capital. Here, I have the daily privilege to work closely and trustfully with daring and diverse minds who are redefining how we will live, work, eat, interact, travel, study – you name it.
Speaking four languages fluently, I am a language nerd. For this reason, I tend to understand the legal code as its very own language, allowing me to translate it into accessible, everyday language, and vice versa – a skill highly valued by my clients. Law can be complex. I believe in cutting through complexity to find the clearest, simplest solutions.
Outside the office, I find peace far away from screens, in nature, music and community – be it a hike along an expansive coastline or through a dense forest, losing myself in creating endless guitar loops, or enjoying outside dinners with friends and family on a warm summer evening.
